Privacy notice for business contacts

What I hold and where it came from

If your company appeared relevant to my work, I may hold: your name, job role, and public LinkedIn profile link, together with company information (trading name, website, public job advertisements, registered company details).

This comes only from public sources: your company's website, public job listings (e.g. Adzuna, LinkedIn Jobs), public business directories and map listings (e.g. Google Maps), the Companies House public register, and LinkedIn. I don't buy contact lists and I don't collect personal email addresses or phone numbers at this stage.

Why I hold it

To make a small number of relevant, individually written business introductions, typically because your company advertised a role involving work I can automate, or your public website or reviews suggested significant manual administrative work I can help with. The legal basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): offering business services to businesses that show a concrete need for them. I contact a handful of companies a week, personally, one message at a time. Nothing is bulk-sent or automated.

How long I keep it

If we don't end up talking, your details simply stay unused and are removed in periodic clean-ups. If you ask me not to contact you, I keep only your name on a do-not-contact list (so I can honour that request permanently) and delete the rest.

Your rights

• Object at any time — reply "not interested" or "please stop" to any message, or email giacomo@giacomobenedetti.com. Objection to direct marketing is an absolute right; I stop immediately and permanently.
• Access, correction, deletion — ask me what I hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted (I'll keep only the do-not-contact entry unless you ask otherwise).
• Complain — if you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

This website
