Privacy notice

If you contact me through this website

What I hold: the name, email address, company and message you send through the contact form, the date, and which page you sent it from.

Why: to reply to you and, if you want, to talk about working together. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).

Where it goes: your message is stored in my Google Workspace account (Google Sheets and Gmail) and passes through my own automation server, which notifies me and sends you an automatic confirmation email. It is not shared with anyone else and never sold. If you book a call, Calendly handles the booking under its own privacy policy.

How long: up to 24 months after our last contact, then deleted. If we work together, I keep what the work needs for as long as it lasts, and business records for as long as UK tax law requires.

If I contacted you about your business

The next four sections cover the information I hold if I contacted you about your business.

What I hold and where it came from

If your business looks like a good fit for my services, I may hold your name, job role, public LinkedIn profile link and a work email address, together with information about your company. This comes from public sources: your company's website, public job listings (e.g. Adzuna, LinkedIn Jobs), business directories and map listings (e.g. Google Maps), the Companies House register, and LinkedIn.

Why I hold it

To contact you, by LinkedIn or email, about services that may be relevant to your business. The legal basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): promoting my services to businesses they are relevant to.

Who else sees it

Only service providers that help me run my business, such as my email provider and an AI writing assistant. Some of them process data outside the UK, including in the US. A list of these providers is available on request. I never sell your details.

How long I keep it

Up to 2 years from our last contact, unless you ask me to stop contacting you. In that case I keep only your name and company on a do-not-contact list so I can respect that.

Your rights

• Object at any time: reply "not interested" or "please stop" to any message from me, or email giacomo@giacomobenedetti.com. Objection to direct marketing is an absolute right; I stop immediately and permanently.
• Where I got your details: ask me and I'll tell you the exact source.
• Access, correction, deletion: ask me what I hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted (I'll keep only the do-not-contact entry unless you ask otherwise).
• Complain: if you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

This website

Separately from the above: this website uses Vercel Analytics to count page views and traffic sources. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you individually, so no cookie consent banner applies. If you'd like to know more, email me at the address below.
